environment variables not found.

Hi,

we are currently trying out V-Ray 2.0 for Maya. To get that to work, V-Ray needs an environment variable in place.
When rendering locally on one of the Ubuntu rendermachines trough ssh, Maya and V-Ray manage fine and recognize the environment variable. When I send them trough the RenderPal server then the env variable is missing and I get a bunch of messages that the renderer can't find VRAY_FOR_MAYA_2011_MAIN_x64

I added VRAY_FOR_MAYA_2011_MAIN_x64=/usr/autodesk/maya2011-x64/vray to /etc/environment to make sure that every user (including RenderPal) is seeing this variable but no succes.

I saw there was a similar problem in the forum back in 2008 but there was no immediate solution added to that thread.

Can anyone help me out?
