Using Wine with RenderPal Client

Post by swamiforlife » 19 Jun 2019, 09:53

I have CentOS 7.5 and am trying to use wine 4.0 to Run RenderPal Client
I am able to get RenderPal Client to open up. But it wont connect to my RenderPal Server.
I can ping the server from CentOS but Client wont connect to server.
Also File daemon fails to start message is shown in the client window.

After playing with wine some more, i dont think wine 4 and RenderPal are compatible with each other.
Have you tested it recently to see if it works. If Shoran can verify it works then maybe i can try to find out whats wrong with my system.
All the information on RenderPal website and manual and forums seems to be outdated.

We haven't tested this, no. Why exactly do you want to run the Windows client on Linux?

Actually just as a backup if i can't get the native linux version working correctly.
I was able to get the native linux client to connect with my server.
Now i am learning about path mapping.
