Running multiple clients

Post by ch3m1kal » 20 Nov 2017, 10:53

Hi,

We're currently doing a bit of experimenting with renderfarm configuration, which requires running 2 clients / render node.
Unfortunately RenderPal seems to use a license for each client instance, which creates and obvious problem.

Any way to fix this?

Thanks!

This is not a bug. As taken from our licensing FAQ:
RenderPal V2 is licensed on a node-base, which means that the RenderPal V2 Server supports up to as many clients as you purchased. A client (or node) refers to a client instance added to the server, not to a single machine or CPU (so the CPU core count doesn't matter). In most cases, you will buy one node license for each rendering machine you have, but it is also possible to run multiple clients on one machine, thus requiring more than one license for that computer. A site license supports an unlimited amount of nodes.

That's a bit annoying, but alright.

Thanks for clearing it up!

Black Friday is near, so you can get some additional licenses quite cheaply.
